Katmora Privacy Policy

Effective 23 October 2026. This policy covers the Katmora app for Mac. In short: Katmora collects no data, and nothing it reads leaves your Mac.

1. Who is responsible

Katmora is developed by Oğuz Yüksel. Contact: [email protected].

2. No data collection

Katmora has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party code. The app has no network access: macOS does not allow it to connect to the internet. We do not receive, store or share any information about you, your files or how you use the app.

3. What the app reads on your Mac

  • Only the disks and folders you choose in the standard macOS Open panel, or the whole startup disk if you turn on Full Disk Access yourself.
  • To draw the map it reads file information such as names, sizes, kinds and dates. It does not read file contents for the map.
  • When you run Identical Files, it reads the contents of regular files of at least 1 MB below the current folder to compute SHA-256 checksums on your Mac. Files that exist only in iCloud are not downloaded or read.
  • To learn whether Full Disk Access is on, the app briefly opens and closes one macOS system file without reading it.

4. What stays on your Mac

  • The last scan is saved inside the app’s own sandbox container, so the map can reopen quickly. It is sealed with a key kept in your login keychain, only to detect a changed or damaged file.
  • The locations you allowed are remembered so macOS does not ask again. They are listed in Katmora’s Settings, where you can remove them.
  • CSV exports are saved only where you choose.
  • Removing the app removes its container. The keychain item (service “com.droguzyuksel.katmora.treestore”) can be deleted in Keychain Access.

5. Apple

Katmora is sold through the Mac App Store. Apple handles purchases under its own privacy policy and gives developers sales reports that do not identify you. If you have chosen in your Mac’s settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may provide us with crash reports; you can change this in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.

6. Children

Katmora collects no data from anyone, including children.

7. Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new effective date.
